The simple answer is – you are probably taking a picture of the Moon with a wide-angle lens. Keep in mind that your eyes are like a 50mm fixed lens and if you are taking a picture with a lens that is wider in angle of view than 50mm, the Moon will be captured in smaller size!
In 1826 he made the View from the Window at Le Gras, the earliest surviving photograph from nature (i.e., of the image of a real-world scene, as formed in a camera obscura by a lens). The Arab physicist Ibn al-Haytham (965–1040) also invented a camera obscura as well as the first true pinhole camera. The invention of the camera has been traced back to the work of Ibn al-Haytham. He also first understood the relationship between the focal point and the pinhole, and performed early experiments with afterimages, laying the foundations for the invention of photography in the 19th century. When using long focal length lenses, camera shake becomes a big problem. As long focal lengths go beyond 300mm, even a slight move can mess up and blur the picture. That’s why if you are using a telephoto lens, a stable tripod is required to be able to produce a sharp image of the moon.

Below you will find detailed instructions on how to reduce the effect of moiré in Photoshop using two different techniques. Depending on which technique you use, the process of dealing with moire and the results will vary. While there are methods to effectively reduce moiré , there is no easy way to completely remove it in post-processing software. Therefore, it is best to address the issue at the time of capture whenever possible. It depends on how large you want your business to be, but it may be a good idea to form an LLC.

Photojournalists must be well informed and knowledgeable about events happening right outside their door. They deliver news in a creative format that is not only informative, but also entertaining, including sports photography. In the United States, a handful of photographers, including Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, John Szarkowski, F. Holland Day, and Edward Weston, spent their lives advocating for photography as a fine art.
Kodachrome, the first modern “integral tripack” (or “monopack”) color film, was introduced by Kodak in 1935. It captured the three color components in a multi-layer emulsion. One layer was sensitized to record the red-dominated part of the spectrum, another layer recorded only the green part and a third recorded only the blue. Glass plates were the medium for most original camera photography from the late 1850s until the general introduction of flexible plastic films during the 1890s. Earliest known surviving heliographic engraving, 1825, printed from a metal plate made by Nicéphore Niépce.
In reaction to that, Weston, Ansel Adams, and others formed the Group f/64 to advocate ‘straight photography’, the photograph as a thing in itself and not an imitation of something else. Crime scene photography consists of photographing scenes of crime such as robberies and murders.
If you’re taking photos in private businesses, you’ll likely need their permission or an agreement of some kind. However, these are easy to put in place with a simple phone call. Some are also compatible with digital invoicing software that will help ensure you get paid on time. If you want to immediately hire employees such as other photographers, web designers or marketing professionals, you may consider registering your business as an LLC or S-corp. Both are good options but have different tax implications. Daryl, The object plane of focus is parallel to the image plane of focus — assuming that the lens has no significant field curvature.
By adding quality articles online, we began to gain traction and are now one of the most successful photography websites. It doesn’t need to be an all-encompassing photography blog that takes up all your time. It’s enough to share a few simple tutorials or even behind-the-scenes snapshots. As long as you think people can benefit from what you have to say, then it’s worth sharing.
I have been using the Savage “Port-a-stand” support system for both corporate and home studio photography and I absolutely love it! It is very cheap (around $100) and yet super flexible and compact – I carry it in one bag. You will need two of these babies – one will go on your camera hotshoe and the second will be used as a “slave” in your off-camera flash.
With D800E w/28mm f/1.4E, I photographed a wharf with stacks of yellow lobster traps, a great source of repeating patterns; in the photo the traps have bright green and orange patterns. Lightroom CC Classic has a dedicated slider called “Moiré”, which can be used with an adjustment brush or other filters in order to reduce moiré in particular parts of a photo.
